CIO Colorado Council
 
 
Overview:
 
CIO Colorado will be led by a council comprised of professional entrepreneurs who have started new businesses and created new jobs within the State of Colorado within the last five years.  Selection to the council will be by invitation only.  We anticipate that over the course of the CIO Colorado's initial 60-90 program period we will have between 10-20 Council Members.  As the program continues this number may double as we address more geographic areas of Colorado.
 
Responsibilities:
 
Expend a minimum of 10 hours per week for 10 weeks towards all goals and activities which will include making contact with prospective Sponsors, the coordination of Innovation Initiatives, the development of Innovation Teams, etc.
 
Specific Goals:
 
Solicit Sponsorships:
Minimum goal of $20,000  (200 General, 20 Bronze, 4 Copper, 2 Silver or any combination thereof)
 
 
Publicize CIO Colorado:
Issue press releases, write blogs, post Utubes, publish newsletters, post banner ads on your website(s), etc.
Conduct interviews with the press – online, print, radio, television, etc.
Make presentations at civic, business and professional organizations
Obtain endorsements of federal, state and local politicians

Captain one Initiative Team:
Assume responsibility for managing one Initiative through development process
Recruit Members and Advisors to your team
Act as spokesperson for the Initiative
 
Innovation Initiatives:
 
An Initiative is a proposal for a specific act to reform Colorado economic development. 
 
Development process steps include:

1.Review
2.Selection
3.Formation of Team
4.Research
5.Development of strategic plan
6.Publication of Initiative on website/blog for public comment
7.Review and analysis of public comment
8.Revision and refinement of strategic plan
9.Submission of plan to Members to establish priority
10.If selected, submission to federal, state and local economic development officials
