Mission:The mission of CIO Colorado is to optimize the environment for new businesses in Colorado to create new jobs resulting in a revitalization and growth of the Colorado economy.
Goals:
Collectively, the goal of all of the efforts of CIO Colorado is to make the State of Colorado the best state within the United States in which to form and grow a small business resulting in new employment to replace all jobs and wages lost since 2008.
Process:
Individual economic development programs and projects will be advanced through the following process:
- Individual ideas may be submitted by anyone.
- Each submission will be assigned to an individual who will review the merits of the submission.
- Quality submissions will be posted on the CIO Colorado website.
- A team comprised of Members and Advisors will be formed to study the idea, development a plan for its implementation, quantify the potential impact on small businesses, the State of Colorado and the citizens of the State of Colorado.
- The economic development plan will be posted on the CIO Colorado website for public comment
- A final plan will be completed after receipt of public comment
- All plans will be voted upon by Members of CIO Colorado to determine the priority of importance in which they should be implemented
- The top plans will be recommended to the State of Colorado for adoption (to the extent that they are controlled by are limited to the State) and to organizations within the private sector (to the extent that they are independent of the State or can be implemented without the State’s participation).To the extent that implementation of any plan requires enabling legislation, the team will assist in the drafting of the legislation and recruit sponsors within the Colorado legislature.
